Dr. Rana S. Torabi, M.D. is a Board-Certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist. Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, Dr. Torabi proudly serves her local community as a skilled and compassionate physician.
Dr. Torabi earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana University, graduating with the highest distinction. She then pursued her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, where she graduated in the top 25% of her class. During her medical school years, she not only excelled academically but also made time to engage in various community outreach programs. Her volunteer work included mentoring aspiring healthcare students and providing support to underprivileged populations in need of medical care, reflecting her deep commitment to service.
Her post-graduate training continued at Indiana University, where she completed a rigorous Ophthalmology Residency. Following residency, Dr. Torabi advanced her specialization in glaucoma by pursuing a highly competitive fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, one of the leading institutions for glaucoma treatment and research in the country. This advanced fellowship allowed her to develop expertise in both the medical and surgical management of glaucoma, providing her with the tools to offer patients cutting-edge care.
